Designing an Intuitive Recipe App for Easy Organization and Discovery

Challenge

Many home cooks struggle with scattered recipes across different platforms, making it difficult to find and organize their favorite meals. Our goal was to design a seamless solution that simplifies recipe management while enhancing the discovery experience.

Solution

Leading a team of seven, I guided the design of Recipe Box Pro, a user-friendly app that allows users to save, organize, and explore recipes in one place. Using Figma, we created wireframes, conducted user testing, and refined the interface based on feedback to ensure an intuitive experience.

Results

The final high-fidelity prototype featured an interactive, visually appealing design that streamlined recipe organization. User testing indicated improved accessibility and efficiency, making it easier for users to manage their favorite recipes effortlessly.

From Sketch to Wireframes

We brainstormed features, sketched designs, and refined concepts before creating detailed wireframes in Figma to visualize the app’s structure and flow, ensuring a smooth user experience before testing.

Branding

We chose a green-based color palette to evoke freshness and health. For the logo, I explored various sketches to merge recipes, a box, and food elements. After refining the concept, the final design encapsulates it all—a 3D recipe box with recipe cards and a chef’s hat, bringing the app’s identity to life.

Usability Testing
