Designing a Cohesive Visual Identity for a Digital Media Portfolio Event
Challenge
I was tasked with creating event print materials for a digital media senior portfolio event. The challenge was to design a cohesive event identity that captured the diverse aspects of the digital media program.
Solution
I created a visual design that represented the broad scope of digital media by incorporating elements that symbolized motion media, print, and digital platforms.
Results
The final design successfully unified multiple digital media disciplines in a clear and cohesive visual language. Feedback from peers and professors praised the design’s clarity and its effective representation of digital media’s diversity, showcasing my understanding of the field.

Concept and Design Inspiration
I wanted my piece to represent the diverse fields within the digital media program. To visually capture this, I incorporated a camera lens for motion media, a newspaper for print, and a keyboard to represent digital platforms. Inspired by the RGB color model, which is used in digital screens to create a full spectrum of colors by combining red, green, and blue light, I assigned each element a primary color. Where the colors overlapped, they formed secondary hues, mirroring how RGB blending works in digital displays and symbolizing the interconnected nature of digital media.
Design Execution
Building on my research and design concepts, I created a cohesive set of event materials. Using InDesign, I crafted a booklet, event invitations, an ID card, and a poster, ensuring each piece aligned with the overall design vision.
